About the Connally Cougar Band
Cougar Band is recognized as one of the top high school music programs in the State of Texas, placing 2nd at the UIL State Marching Contest and competing at the Bands of America Grand National Championships in Indianapolis. Since opening its doors in 1996 as Pflugerville ISD’s second high school campus, the John B. Connally Band has consistently won the UIL Sweepstakes Award, and has ranked among the top marching bands in the country.
The Connally Cougar Band strives for the highest level of musical excellence through personal dedication and a strong work ethic. Our students have established a culture built upon support, encouragement, and respect. Through their loyalty to one another, our students have truly created a “band family”. As our district continues to grow, so does our band program. This year, 185 band and color guard students will take the field at each Connally High School Football game. To be successful, a program of this size requires not only parental involvement, but also strong support from the community.
